GACRTC Presents Howard Bacharach
1st Annual Tourism Leadership Award
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J., May 21 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Howard Bacharach, Executive Director of the Atlantic City Hotel & Lodging Association (ACHLA) has been presented with the 1st Annual Tourism Leadership Award from the Greater Atlantic City Region Tourism Council (GACRTC). GACRTC is one of the six state regions as defined by the State of New Jersey, Division of Travel & Tourism.
The award was presented at the GACRTC Annual Installation of Officers Luncheon, held at Cuba Libre at The Quarter in Tropicana Casino and Resort in Atlantic City. Atlantic County Executive Dennis Levinson installed the Council Executive Officers, including its new Chairman, Dr. Brian Tyrrell, of Richard Stockton College of NJ.
Bacharach was cited for his outstanding contribution to tourism in Atlantic County, NJ. He joined ACHLA in 2003 as its Executive Director. Although the Association has deep roots in Atlantic City, beginning over 100 years ago, it was ready to seek a new direction -- and in the past five years that task has been accomplished, returning ACHLA to prominence in the Atlantic County region.
His previous employment included nineteen years with Caesars Atlantic City, "graduating" in 1997 as its Senior Vice President of Operations/Administration. Prior to those years, he was employed in Atlantic City with a certified public accounting firm, auditing many of the major hotels/motels operating in the South Jersey region. Additionally, prior to the dawn of casino gaming in Atlantic City, he was an operating partner with the Atlantic City amusement/entertainment attractions of the Steel Pier, Million Dollar Pier and Boardwalk Bowl.
Howard lives in Ventnor City, NJ with his bride of 4 1/2 years, the former Ronnie Watson.
